About the World Oceans Festival

Join us for Ireland’s 5th celebration of our ocean heritage. The Irish Wildlife Trust has again teamed up with T-Bay Surf and Wildlife Centre to present an even bigger event, with something for everyone. New features this year include International Kite-Surfing, talks and demonstrations on bird box building and gardening with native plants. The internationally acclaimed Whale Roadshow visits the southeast for the first time. Look forward to a visual extravaganza!

Irish Wildlife Trust
Dedicated to conserving Irelands wildlife and habitats. Campaigns include hedgerow conservation, badger protection and was the first NGO to call for the creation of a whale & dolphin sanctuary in Irish waters. The local branch holds outings to areas with interesting landscape, flora and fauna on a monthly basis. All are welcome and details are in the local press. Join the south east branch - call Marie Power at 051 386329, marpower@eircom.net

T-Bay Surf & Wildlife Centre
The T-Bay Surf & Wildlife Centre, a purpose built water sports and educational facility was built in 1999 by the T-Bay Surf Club (est. 1967), with community support and financial contributions from local businesses, and grants from Waterford Leader Partnership and the Irish Sports Council.
Located directly on Tramore Beach, the Centre is a non-profit taking organisation. The T-Bay Surf School aims to promote the Sport of Surfing while providing a user friendly building for all beach users to enjoy. The Centre has become a forum for environmental groups and a promoter of the local environment, developing an environmental awareness course, the first of its kind in Ireland. As an educational facility it provides a wide range of courses for schools and the community to learn about the local environment and wildlife. Open all year round, the T-Bay Surf and Wildlife Centre is a major tourist attraction in the South East. Contact Billy Butler at 051 391297, billy@surftbay.com
